Weight Lose

How does Brown rice help in weight lose.

Although brown rice contains the same amount of carbohydrats as normal rice, there is a difference which makes it more efficent in keeping weight down. The difference is fiber.

Fiber is the part of plant-based foods that our bodies can't digest. It passes through our digestive tract without providing anything, and yet it is very healthy for us.
Fiber also moves fat through our digestive system faster so that less of it is absorbed.
Fiber also makes us feel full sooner and stays in our stomach longer than other substances we eat, slowing down our rate of digestion and keeping us feeling full longer. Fiber acts like a sponge in your bowel, and soaks up water around it and swells to a bulkier form which helps to slow down the emptying of the stomach. That is where the feeling of fullness comes from.

Due to its greater fiber content, a single serving of whole grain bread can be more filling than two servings of white bread.

Refined grains like white rice and those used to make white bread and sugary breakfast cereals have had most of their fiber and nutrients stripped away. They turn into blood sugar (glucose) so fast that, like sugar itself, they can cause a spike in our insulin level. This tells our body that plenty of energy is readily available and that it should stop burning fat and start storing it.

The greater concern is that the insulin spike is followed by a drop in insulin level that leaves us feeling tired and hungry and wanting to eat more. The unfortunate result of this scenario is that it makes us want to eat something else with a high sugar content. When we do, we start the cycle all over again. Eating foods with plenty of fiber will help keep our blood sugar at a more consistent level. Hence eating food with more fiber keeps you feeling full longer.

And be sure to drink plenty of fluids when adding fiber to your diet. While fiber is normally helpful to your digestive system, without adequate fluids it can cause constipation instead of helping to eliminate it.

Type of Brown Rice

I notice people who buy brown rice might not actually know the differences between them. So here are some of my observations. For those who want to know more, please feel free to message me at Mysticattic78@hotmail.com

Brown rice is basically rice with the husk removed. After that, it can be further polished to change the texture of the rice.

Rice on the market usually comes in 3 types. Red, Mixed, White-ish. All these are considered brown rice, with the difference in how much it is *polished* after the husk is removed.

1>Red Brown rice. Contains the most amount of fiber. Most people find it too hard, too chewy.

2>Mixed Brown Rice. Contains different mixture of Red brown rice and White-ish brown rice. Moderate amount of fiber. A good mixture for those who are taking brown rice for the first time.

3>White-ish Brown Rice. The fiber is mostly removed. Soft enough that most people do not know the difference between it and white rice.

All are considered brown. The difference is in the amount of fiber in it.
